Our client, a leading international professional services firm is seeking an experienced US Tax Director to join its Bermuda office. This senior leadership role centres on advising clients on US tax planning, compliance, and strategy, guiding businesses through complex regulations while optimising their tax positions.
The Director will oversee compliance activities such as reviewing and analysing financial data, preparing and filing tax returns, and ensuring clients meet obligations while minimising risk. Beyond technical expertise, the role requires setting vision, inspiring teams, and mentoring future leaders. The successful candidate will embody integrity, inclusion, and commercial acumen, fostering collaboration and maximising client satisfaction.

Required Skills & Expertise
- Extensive knowledge of compliance and consulting for investment partnerships, including hedge funds, mutual funds, and private equity funds.
- Strong understanding of fund structuring and fund management companies to optimise tax liability.
- Considerable knowledge of alternative investment strategies and vehicles.
- Advanced technical skills in partnership tax forms, including Schedules K‑1 and K‑3 for US and non‑US funds.
- Proven ability to identify and address client needs, build deep relationships, and develop new service opportunities.
- Experience preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials, managing budgets, billing, and collections.
- Demonstrated success as a team leader: motivating teams, fostering trust, coaching staff, and encouraging innovation.
- Experience negotiating contracts and contributing to pricing strategies.
- Familiarity with automation and digitisation in professional services, including working with large data sets, building models, and leveraging data visualisation tools.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of recent, relevant experience in US Tax within a professional services or similar organisation.
- CPA ,EA, or Member of the Bar qualification required.
