A newly created opportunity for a talented, high‑performing Senior Manager to join the TPA Quality & Methodology team within the Audit Quality (AQ) function. The role is central to driving quality improvement, strengthening methodology, and supporting process harmonisation across the TPA practice.
Working closely with TPA , AQ Directors, engagement teams and specialists across the wider practice, you will help shape priorities, provide technical support, and contribute to the development and implementation of TPA’s quality, methodology and governance framework. The position offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and involvement in a wide range of technical, quality and strategic initiatives.
Overview
The TPA Quality & Methodology team operates across Audit & Advisory TPA service lines to support a consistent, high‑quality approach to non‑audit assurance. Embedded within AQ, the team works with TPA leadership and engagement teams to deliver methodology, technical consultations, quality management activities and strategic quality projects.
The breadth and evolving nature of TPA provides opportunities to work across multiple assurance areas, address emerging technical issues, lead projects and build strong relationships across the Audit and Advisory streams.
Responsibilities
As part of the TPA Quality & Methodology team, you will support compliance with applicable non‑audit assurance standards, governance requirements and firm methodology. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and supporting the development and implementation of TPA methodology, guidance and tools across existing and emerging non‑audit assurance engagements.
- Supporting the design and operation of the TPA consultation framework, including mandatory consultations and general technical queries.
- Contributing to the operation and enhancement of the TPA System of Quality Management (ISQM (UK) 1), including monitoring, evaluation and remediation activities.
- Developing and delivering technical guidance, communications and learning arising from methodology, consultations and quality activities.
- Identifying TPA training needs and collaborating with L&D to design and deliver relevant training programmes.
- Facilitating and supporting TPA engagement‑level quality assessments (practice reviews).
- Leading and contributing to cross‑TPA and cross‑AQ initiatives to promote a consistent approach to quality.
Requirements
Qualifications & Technical Knowledge
- ACA or equivalent professional accountancy qualification.
- Strong understanding of assurance, quality and/or methodology.
- Familiarity with UK and International Other Assurance (ISAEs), Review (ISREs) and Related Services (ISRSs) Standards and related external guidance.
- Awareness of UK/EU regulatory developments (desirable but not essential).
Skills & Experience
- Proven external audit experience at Senior Manager level.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team, using initiative to solve problems.
- Strong ability to absorb technical and regulatory content in a fast‑paced environment.
- Skilled at building relationships across TPA and AQ and contributing to wider quality initiatives.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving capability, working collaboratively with engagement teams and subject matter experts to analyse complex scenarios and develop pragmatic solutions.
- Experience in training design, development and delivery.
- Strong project and time‑management skills.
