Role Overview
Our client is seeking to appoint a Senior Manager for Audit Methodology (Third‑Party Assurance) to strengthen its assurance methodology, quality, and technical guidance across all third‑party assurance engagements (including ISAE 3000/3402, SOC reporting, and other non‑financial assurance services).
This role suits an experienced TPA and/or Audit Methodology Specialist with strong technical skills, a passion for audit/assurance quality, and an interest in shaping methodology, guidance, and training for a leading audit and advisory firm.
Key Responsibilities
Methodology Development & Technical Leadership
- Lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of third‑party assurance methodology, including ISAE 3000/3402, SOC 1/SOC 2, and other non‑financial assurance frameworks.
- Draft and update technical guidance, policies, templates, and tools to support consistent, high‑quality TPA delivery across the firm.
- Provide authoritative responses to methodology queries from audit and assurance teams at all levels.
Quality, Risk & Compliance
- Support internal quality initiatives by performing file reviews, thematic reviews, and methodology testing across TPA engagements.
- Ensure firmwide compliance with ISAE standards, regulatory expectations, and internal quality frameworks.
- Advise partners and managers on complex assurance reporting matters, including scope, criteria, and evidence requirements.
Training & Capability Building
- Develop and deliver training content for TPA methodology, including emerging standards, reporting requirements, and best practice.
- Contribute to firmwide learning sessions, workshops, and technical updates for assurance teams.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Lead key methodology projects relating to third‑party assurance, including new service lines, digital enablement, and enhancements to assurance tools.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for sector‑specific TPA needs, supporting teams with tailored guidance and content.
- Collaborate with Risk Advisory, Technology Risk, and Audit Advisory teams to ensure alignment across assurance methodologies.
Requirements
- ACA / ACCA / ICAS or equivalent professional qualification.
- Significant experience in third‑party assurance, external audit, or risk assurance within a leading professional services firm.
- Strong technical understanding of ISAE 3000/3402, SOC reporting, and non‑financial assurance frameworks.
- Proven ability to translate complex standards into clear, practical guidance.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence advising senior stakeholders.
- A passion for assurance quality, methodology, and continuous improvement.
