The Role

As a Manager or Senior Manager, you will lead a team of ambitious, forward‑thinking professionals to deliver high‑quality audits. Working closely with the Audit Engagement Leader, you will build and nurture relationships with senior client stakeholders and oversee the audit process from planning through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading large, multi‑location (often international) audit teams, applying strong people leadership and relationship‑management skills to deliver high‑quality work from planning to completion.
  • Developing trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, demonstrating curiosity, insight, and the ability to provide constructive challenge throughout the audit.
  • Collaborating across the firm—drawing on specialist teams and subject‑matter experts to bring deeper insight to the organisations audited, managing differing viewpoints, and forming well‑reasoned recommendations.
  • Taking ownership of complex or judgemental areas of the audit, identifying issues, analysing multiple data points, and presenting clear, concise conclusions to senior stakeholders.
  • Ensuring audit documentation meets the highest standards and reviewing financial statements for compliance with all relevant reporting requirements.
  • Managing the financial and resource aspects of audit engagements, demonstrating strong commercial awareness.
  • Leading internal initiatives that support the wider firm and service lines, while acting as a role model, mentor, and coach to junior team members.
  • Creating an inclusive team environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and constructive challenge—helping colleagues realise their potential and supporting their long‑term aspirations.
  • Putting the team first by coaching with purpose, being present, and communicating expectations clearly.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (ACA / ACCA / ICAS) or equivalent.
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS and/or UK GAAP, with deep experience applying International Standards on Auditing.
  • A proven track record of currently managing large or complex audits to a high standard, from planning through to completion.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex or contentious audit matters clearly to colleagues and senior client stakeholders.
  • The confidence to contribute informed viewpoints on broader industry topics and provide knowledgeable challenge to senior clients.
  • A commitment to audit quality, pride in the profession, and resilience in a fast‑moving, digital‑first environment.
