About the Role

Our client’s Financial Reporting team combines deep technical expertise with global reach, delivering comprehensive reporting services for businesses with complex requirements. With strong international connections, they are especially adept at guiding multinational organisations with subsidiaries across multiple countries through the financial reporting process.

They are seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to lead technical reviews of annual reports for publicly traded and private/complex companies, including those in the banking sector. This role involves close collaboration with audit teams to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), UK GAAP, Companies Act legislation, and regulatory requirements, alongside ad‑hoc advisory projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical reviews of annual reports for listed and high‑risk companies.
  • Partner with audit teams to confirm compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP, and company legislation.
  • Collaborate with the IFRS Advisory team to provide practical solutions to complex reporting queries.
  • Deliver internal financial reporting training, updates, and seminars.
  • Write articles and materials on financial reporting matters for internal communications.
  • Monitor external developments in financial reporting and develop action plans.
  • Supervise and support junior team members, fostering a constructive environment.

Requirements

This role is ideal for professionals with strong technical aptitude and experience in financial reporting:

  • ACA/ICAS qualified (or overseas equivalent).
  • Previous experience as a Manager or Assistant Manager in a technical/IFRS team, or relevant audit background.
  • Practical experience reviewing annual reports; listed company experience desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRSs, UK GAAP, Companies Act, and the wider reporting environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to further develop financial reporting expertise.
  • Banking sector experience is desirable but not essential.

Candidates with strong audit backgrounds may also be considered for an Assistant Manager position.
