Audit Quality – Root Cause Analysis – London / Flexible Working

A leading professional services firm is seeking an experienced and motivated Manager to join its expanding Root Cause Analysis (RCA) team. This team plays a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement in audit quality by investigating the underlying factors contributing to both high and substandard audit outcomes.

As part of a strategic investment in audit quality and ISQM 1 implementation, the RCA team is growing to enhance its capabilities. The team conducts in-depth analyses using audit quality indicators and interviews with engagement teams and central audit quality functions. These insights inform the development of targeted actions to strengthen audit quality across both individual engagements and the broader audit practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead root cause analyses on audits subject to internal and external quality inspections, as well as other audit quality matters.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the audit quality function to design and implement impactful improvement plans.
• Contribute to the evolution of the RCA team and its methodologies during a period of growth and transformation.
• Report to the RCA & Improvement Lead and work closely with the Head of Audit Quality.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated experience in audit, either as a practitioner or within an audit quality function.
• Strong interest in understanding the drivers of audit quality, including behavioural and systemic factors.
• Prior experience in root cause analysis is advantageous but not essential; comprehensive training will be provided.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear written reports and engage confidently with diverse stakeholders.
• Highly organized with strong project management capabilities.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, small team environment.
