Our client, a highly respected Top 10 audit firm, is seeking to appoint a Senior Manager to lead and support the delivery of key audit methodology projects. This role is perfectly suited to an experienced Senior Audit Manager with strong technical expertise, a passion for audit quality, and an interest in shaping firmwide methodology, guidance, and training.
You will bring significant experience in external audit, including managing complex audits and audit‑related projects, and will be recognised for your deep technical knowledge of auditing standards and their practical application, particularly in relation to audit reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support major Audit Methodology projects, including drafting guidance, proposing enhancements to the audit tool, and contributing to methodology‑related training.
- Develop and update technical guidance and policies as part of ongoing methodology initiatives.
- Respond to audit methodology queries from audit teams across all grades, providing clear, practical, and authoritative advice.
- Design and deliver audit methodology training, aligned to key projects and emerging technical developments.
- Act as a sector representative, responding to sector‑specific queries, supporting sector training, and contributing to sector‑focused methodology content.
- Support the development and delivery of group learning sessions led by partners and managers across the audit practice.
- Perform internal file reviews for quality control, methodology testing, and continuous improvement.
- As part of the Audit Quality practice, provide expert guidance to ensure compliance with ISAs, UK auditing standards, and the firm’s audit methodology.
- Take a forward‑looking approach to upcoming regulatory changes, standard‑setting developments, and business needs, ensuring the methodology remains robust and future‑proof.
- Contribute to special projects that enhance audit quality, including new guidance, tools, templates, and training materials for firm wide use.
Requirements
- ACA, ICAS, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Recognised as an expert in UK auditing standards, with strong knowledge of ISAs (UK) and audit reporting requirements.
- Significant experience managing complex audits within a leading professional services firm.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to translate complex standards into clear, practical guidance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to advise partners, managers, and audit teams.
- A passion for audit quality, methodology, and continuous improvement.
