A leading international advisory firm is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join its Complex & International Restructuring team in London. This is a high‑impact role working on some of the most challenging and high‑profile restructuring situations in the market.
You’ll work with major UK corporates, global brands, financial institutions, and high‑profile stakeholders across multi‑jurisdictional engagements. The work spans formal insolvency appointments, complex restructuring advisory mandates, contingency planning, options analysis, cash and liquidity reviews, and Restructuring Plans. No two assignments are the same , you’ll be operating in fast‑moving, dynamic environments where commercial judgement and clear communication are essential.
As an Associate Director, you will lead engagement teams, act as day‑to‑day client contact, and deliver high‑quality analysis and advice that shapes critical decisions. You’ll build trusted relationships with senior executives, lenders, lawyers, and advisors, while also coaching and developing junior team members. The role offers significant exposure to complex special situations and international restructuring work, providing a platform for long‑term career progression.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading and contributing to teams of 3–6 on restructuring and insolvency engagements
- Managing formal insolvency appointments, including Special Administrations
- Delivering detailed financial and commercial analysis to support clear client recommendations
- Assessing business performance and developing practical restructuring options
- Managing engagements to scope, timeline, quality, and budget
- Acting as the primary client lead on relevant assignments
- Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across corporates, lenders, and legal advisors
- Supporting business development and contributing to new service offerings
- Coaching and developing junior colleagues
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years’ restructuring advisory and insolvency experience
- ACA/ACCA qualification plus CPI or JIEB is desirable
- Proven track record managing corporate insolvency appointments
- Experience leading workstreams and managing junior staff
- Strong financial modelling, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, able to simplify complex concepts
- Confident stakeholder management, including in challenging situations
- Strong external network and interest in business development
- Proactive, self‑starting approach with strong team leadership skills
