In-Flight Review Director – Leading UK Audit Firm | London-Based

CK Search Global is proud to partner with one of the UK’s top-tier audit firms to recruit an experienced In-Flight Review Director. This pivotal role supports the delivery of high-profile, high-risk audits—including Public Interest Entities (PIEs)—within their London-based audit practice.

Candidate Profile

We’re seeking a seasoned audit professional who brings:

• London-based availability: Most high-risk PIE and listed audits are managed by the London team. Proximity to London is essential.
• FRC AQR experience: You’ve worked within the Financial Reporting Council’s Audit Quality Review (AQR) team and understand the regulatory perspective.
• Big 4 audit background: You’ve held senior roles in a Big 4 firm or contributed to an in-flight review function within one.

Key Responsibilities

As In-Flight Review Director, you will:

• Lead multiple in-flight reviews for high-risk and listed audit clients.
• Coach and support audit partners, managers, and senior managers on quality initiatives and in-flight reviews, ensuring alignment with firm policies and regulatory standards.
• Build strong relationships with audit teams, offering guidance throughout the review process.
• Review technical training materials to ensure relevance and compliance.
• Collaborate with the audit quality support team on cross-sector projects, including external regulatory reviews.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• ACA / CA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualification.
• 2–5+ years as a Senior Manager at a major audit firm.
• Recent or current experience as an Inspector at the FRC.
• Proven expertise in auditing PIEs and listed entities.
• Deep knowledge of UK auditing standards, ethical frameworks, and IFRS.
